Multiple mobile apps platforms causing developer burnout

Developer Burnout is the theme of a good article by Richard Rabins in TechNewsWorld.  I too see this problem in my work with software development groups. Of course, we have been here before with the challenges of writing apps for different platforms but never before with this scale of so many apps being written by a wide range of organizations. In the past, I would suggest that the only entity to "find a solution" has been the market and we see signs of that happening now.  A further thought: we have to hope the market cuts down the number of options soon because having lots of platforms works to the advantage of the big guys who can afford multiple implementations.  This may start to suppress creativity and innovation from smaller app developers.

"It's frustrating that there are so many failed software projects when I know from personal experience that it's possible to do so much better - and we can help."
