Last week, I did a joint estimation workshop with Dan Galorath in New York City. It's always a pleasure to work withthe Galorath team and I am often impressed by some new thinking they have come up with in relation to estimating. At last week's workshop, Dan had a slide on "Estimation Maturity" levels, which I like a lot because not only does it set out a path towards increasing estimation maturity but it also show that some low level practices must be stopped for progress to be made. To bring out this point, I have reformated the presentation of the information a little as shown below:
