SEPG 2012 Day 1

Interesting keynote from Walker Royce of IBM. Walker was good enough to reference a video that he delivered with very similar content, so I thought you might appreciate an opportunity to hear something very similar to what we heard this morning. Measured Improvement in Software Economics Video

Walker sets out a differnt economic perspective on the benefits of agile of traditional waterfall methods based on some measurements from IBM.  In particular, you should pay attention to the the slides showing the different cost of change profile during the duration of the project if integration is done before unit testing. There is a lot of good stuff here in a short video.

"It's frustrating that there are so many failed software projects when I know from personal experience that it's possible to do so much better - and we can help."
